Grosse Isle Walking Path - Public Consultation

Public Consultation – Grosse Isle Walking Path

Monday, July 11th, 2022 @ 7:00 p.m.

Grosse Isle Recreation Club, located at 117 Road 72 N E, Grosse Isle, MB

Last year, the RM of Rosser received a $75,000 Building Sustainable Communities grant from the Manitoba Government, for the Grosse Isle Active Transportation Path.  The grant received, matched the municipality’s budgeted contribution of $75,000.00, for a total budget of $150,000.00.

During the planning process, delays were encountered in 2021, due to planning issues, determining the location of the path and maneuvering right-of-way issues.

With our grant extended into 2022, the municipality is back at work with our partners to bring the path to completion this year.

More recently, input has been received from some community members from within the Grosse Isle community and the surrounding area, that has brought forward recommendations in relation to the design and route of the path.

As such, the Municipality is planning a public consultation to present options and associated costs, with the intention of securing feedback to finalize a decision on the development of a segment of an active transportation path.

We are seeking to gather a wide variety of perspectives and input from residents and stakeholders in the community and would ask that you share this information within the community to encourage participation at our upcoming meeting.

Should you be unable to attend the public consultation, you can email your feedback to admin@rmofrosser.com, no later than 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 12th or you can call the municipal office at (204)467-5711, to obtain information, if needed.  We would appreciate that all feedback be received by 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 12th, 2022, for Council’s review at the Council meeting taking place that day.
