Important Public Sessions – Disaster Financial Assistance & Other Resources
Wednesday, June 17, and Thursday, June 18, from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM each day at the Grosse Isle Community Centre the Province of Manitoba Disaster Financial Assistance (DFA) Team will be on site to answer questions about the DFA claims process for homeowners, farmers, and business owners. They will also be conducting home inspections during both days.
Additional support will also be available at the Community Centre:
- Province of
Manitoba Health Inspectors, available to provide guidance
on health and safety during home clean-up and to help determine when it is
safe to return home.
Available 9am – 2pm each day.
- Interlake-Eastern
Regional Health Authority Mental Health Resource Team, offering
information on accessing mental health resources for those who may need
support.
Available 9am – 7pm both days.
Specific team members to help youth on June 18th between 11am – 7pm.
- RM of Rosser Municipal Staff answering questions regarding services during the emergency, along with additional resources, including:
- Information from the Insurance Bureau of Canada on insurance coverage and claims processes.
- Resources from the Manitoba Home Builders’ Association, including:
- A list of renovator members.
- Guides on hiring a contractor and navigating the renovation process.
- Information from Provincial Office of Drinking Water on private well water testing after flooding. In addition, sampling bottles for the well water testing program will be available.
