A Letter To Our Residents from the Reeve
A Letter to our residents from the Reeve Ken Mulligan
I would like to take a moment to address our residents within the RM. I have been truly moved to see how quickly community members have come together in a crisis. I truly appreciate seeing all the volunteers that have showed up for their friends / family and neighbors. It’s truly amazing what can be accomplished when we all work together.
Seeing volunteers of all ages coming together showing support has warmed my heart. I know that together we will get through this. From making lunches at the community club to putting together sandbags, I thank you. Your community members thank you. This will be a moment that none of us will forget. During this time, I know that continued kindness will be displayed as we move forward.
Almost 80% of the Rosser area experienced over 8 inches of water during this storm. Here are a few notes regarding what we are working on to ensure your safety during this difficult time.
Our priority is you, your family and your homes. Ensuring you are all safe is at the top of all our minds. All difficult decisions are made with this in mind.
Staff is working where they are needed to ensure that your safety is maintained and ensuring roads are looked after.
The fire department is working hard answering all calls and getting out to where they need to be despite the tough travel conditions.
We are working closely with neighboring RM’s to ensure the continued support and safety measures are in place for everyone.
We are working hard to ensure water levels are monitored and will only cut highways when absolutely necessary for the safety of yourselves and your families. The Provincial 221 Highway experienced a cut by the Province due to the extremely high waters that were closing in on Dorsey station.
I want to take a moment again to thank all residents of Rosser for their unwavering support for each other. From checking in on your neighbor to helping wherever you can. Thank you.
Please continue to call the RM office or look on our website for any information and updates. Staff is working hard to ensure all communications are delivered to you in as soon as they are available.
Together we will get through this, together we are strong.
Be Safe,
Ken Mulligan
